Batteries & Accessories for Airsoft

Types of Batteries

LiPo (Lithium Polymer): LiPo batteries are lightweight and have a high energy capacity. Available in 7.4V and 11.1V. Higher voltages provide more power and faster firing speed. Handle with care due to the risk of overheating.

NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride): NiMH batteries are safer and less prone to over- or undercharging. Available voltages are usually 8.4V and 9.6V. They are heavier and have less power than LiPos.

Capacity and Form Factors

mAh (milliampere-hour): A battery's capacity, measured in mAh, determines its usage time. Airsoft batteries typically range between 1200mAh and 2600mAh.

Shapes and Connectors: Batteries come in shapes such as stick, brick and nunchuck. Important connectors include Tamiya (small and large) and Deans (T-connector). Choosing the right connector is crucial for compatibility.

Charging Airsoft Batteries

Chargers: Use smart chargers for NiMH batteries and balance chargers for LiPo batteries. This will prolong their life and ensure safe charging.

Safety guidelines for LiPo Batteries:

  • Always use a balance charger.
  • Charge at a safe voltage (not above 4.2V per cell).
  • Use a LiPo storage bag for added safety.
  • Never leave batteries unattended while charging.

Suitable Battery for your Airsoftgun

Check the Specifications: Look for the battery connector type and recommended voltage in your airsoftgun's manual. Make sure the battery fits the dimensions of the battery case.

Lifespan of Airsoft Batteries

Average Life: A well-maintained battery can withstand several hundred charge and discharge cycles. Avoid full discharge and charge regularly for longer life.
