Discover the World of Airsoft Magazines and Accessories

When it comes to Airsoft, choosing the right magazine is just as important as choosing the right weapon. Different types of magazines offer unique benefits and features that can enhance your gaming experience. Let's dive deeper into the various types of Airsoft magazines and their accessories such as feed lips, inlet valves, exhaust valves and pull tabs.

Different Types of Airsoft Magazines

There are different types of Airsoft magazines available, each with their own features and advantages:

  • High-Capacity Magazines (Hi-Cap): These magazines can hold a large number of BBs, often up to 300 BBs or more. They are ideal for long games where reloading is not an option, but can sometimes make noise due to the internal spring.
  • Mid-Capacity Magazines (Mid-Cap): Mid-Cap magazines offer a good balance between capacity and reliability. They usually hold between 100 and 200 BBs and make no noise, making them perfect for tactical games.
  • Low-Capacity Magazines (Low-Cap): These magazines are the most realistic in terms of capacity, often holding between 30 and 70 BBs. They are ideal for Milsim (Military Simulation) games where realism is paramount. With GBB magazines, they are almost all low-cap.

Important Accessories for Airsoft Magazines

Besides the magazines themselves, there are several accessories that can help you maintain and improve your magazines:

Feed Lips

Feed lips are crucial for correctly feeding BBs into your Airsoft weapon. They can wear out over time, so it is important to check them regularly and replace them if necessary. This is usually only the case when it comes to GBB magazines. As the bolt, or valve, slides past the feedlips with each shot to load a new BB, wear can occur here.

Inlet Valves

Inlet valves control airflow in gas and CO2 magazines. Good inlet valves ensure constant and reliable operation of your magazine. Over time, these may also wear out and leak. This can be due to a dried-out O-ring or sand and dust getting between them.

Exhaust valves

Exhaust valves are responsible for the outflow of gas during shooting. They need to be properly maintained to ensure that your gun continues to work efficiently. For this, the same applies as for inlet valves

Pull Tabs

Pull tabs make loading and reloading your magazines a lot easier. They are especially useful during intense Airsoft games where every second counts. These are often rubber grips that can be fitted to the bottom of magazines. This can make it easier to grab your magazines from your pouches. In addition, they also offer some protection when dropping magazines.
