The Shogun team is impressed by the versatility of this Hikmicro. Switching between the optical 4K display and thermal imaging is seamless, and the OLED display provides a clear image even in bright sunlight. At 795 grams, it is surprisingly lightweight for a device with so much technology onboard.

Technology and optical performance

The optical module features a 4K CMOS sensor with a resolution of 3840x2160p. The standard magnification of 5.5x can be digitally increased up to 22x. For night-time observation, there is a built-in 940 nm IR illuminator with a range of 350 metres. The field of view is 12.0x7.2 metres at a distance of 100 metres.

The thermal sensor has a resolution of 256x192p with a 12 µm pixel pitch. This provides detailed thermal images with a detection range up to 1200 metres. The thermal magnification ranges from 5.3x to 17.2x, with a field of view of 12.2x9.3 metres at 100 metres. The 60 mm objective lenses ensure optimal light intake and image quality.

Mounting and compatibility

This binocular features a ¼"-20 UNC thread, allowing you to mount it on almost any tripod. This is ideal for extended observation sessions where stability is crucial. The 18650 Li-Ion battery provides approximately 8 hours of use – more than enough for a whole night of observation.
