The modern spring-loaded air rifle can deliver high muzzle velocity in countries where the law allows it. Very powerful air rifles deliver a hefty recoil that can destroy a scope if the scope mounts are not designed to withstand that recoil. Air guns create double the recoil that a well-designed mounting system can withstand. Hawke Match Mounts feature a recoil stopper and cushion tape to prevent damage to the riflescope tube. The precision machined 22mm clamps fit perfectly on a 22mm rail.
