H&N Slug HP II .217 - 5.51mm 27gr – heavy slugs for powerful PCP systems

These slugs are specially developed for experienced shooters with powerful PCP air rifles. With a caliber of .217 (5.51mm) and a weight of 27 grains, this slug for PCP air rifle delivers optimal performance in systems from 40 joules upwards. The Hollow Point design ensures maximum energy transfer on impact, making this ammunition particularly suitable for shooters seeking precision and power at medium to long ranges.

Our experience from the Shogun team

When testing these H&N slugs in various PCP systems around 60 joules, we immediately noticed the stable flight path. Up to 75-100 metres, these projectiles maintain their accuracy excellently, with the heavy construction resulting in minimal wind sensitivity. The projectile retains its energy well over distance, resulting in a powerful impact that is clearly noticeable even on steel targets.

Technical properties in practice

The caliber of .217 (5.51mm) in combination with the weight of 27 grains makes these slugs ideal for PCP systems with sufficient power. The Hollow Point pellet shape provides not only excellent aerodynamics during flight, but also effective energy transfer on impact. Thanks to the optimised fit, these slugs seal perfectly in the barrel, contributing to consistent performance. The packaging contains 200 pieces, which is sufficient for extensive shooting sessions. For optimal results, we recommend using a chronograph to monitor your system’s energy output and thus achieve the best performance from this air rifle ammunition.

Who is this air rifle ammunition suitable for?

These slugs are developed for advanced PCP shooters who want to get the most out of their system. Perfect for precision shooting at medium to long ranges where stability and impact are crucial. If the projectile is a hollow point, it is also suitable for pest control, but please note: the use of an air rifle is legally regulated. In many cases, an exemption or hunting licence is required, and this is only permitted for recognised controllers or certified users.
