Our experience with the KRAIT MKII Standard

The Shogun team found this air rifle to be remarkably well finished. The build quality looks robust thanks to the combined polymer-metal frame, and the side lever operates smoothly without any play. Shot behaviour is calm and consistent, and the two-stage trigger responds surprisingly crisply for a bullpup of this size.

Mechanics, performance, and variants

The KRAIT MKII operates on the PCP principle with a fill capacity of 300 bar and an air cylinder of 300 cc. All variants share the same dimensions: a length of 640 mm, a barrel length of 400 mm, and a weight of 3.13 kg. The multishot magazine is included with both versions, and the 22 mm picatinny rail offers space for optics of your choice. The model is available in caliber 4.5mm (.177) with a power output of up to 22 joules and in 5.5mm (.22) with a power output of up to 33 joules. The 4.5mm version shoots flatter and is ideal for paper targets at shorter distances, while the 5.5mm delivers more energy and therefore performs better at longer distances or when plinking with heavier pellets. Use and operation

The KRAIT MKII feels compact and well balanced against the shoulder. The ambidextrous controls, the extendable stock, and the cheek piece adjustable in both height and depth ensure you quickly find a perfect shooting position. The safety catch is clearly marked (Fire/Safe) and easy to operate with the thumb. Loading is quick via the side lever, and the redesigned magazine system accepts pellets up to 14 mm — convenient for those who like to experiment with heavier projectiles.
