During a weekend trip, we tested the Remix for various camping tasks. The knife cut effortlessly through rope and packaging material. The linerlock worked reliably, although we did notice that the steel requires regular sharpening after intensive use.

Performance and sharpness of this pocket knife

The 7Cr17MoV steel is a Chinese steel type comparable to 440A – ideal for beginners but not the sharpest. With its plain-edge cutting edge and blade length of 7.3 cm, the knife cuts well through cardboard, food, and light wood. The blade is razor-sharp out of the box, but does require maintenance to stay that way.

Grip and ease of use

The open aluminium frame feels surprisingly sturdy despite its light weight. The circular opening provides extra control for precision work. The linerlock locking mechanism operates smoothly and keeps the droppoint blade securely in place during use.
