Vector Optics Tauron 4-16x44 HD MIL FFP Rifle Scope

This rifle scope is a precision-focused optic designed for shooting at medium to long ranges. With a variable magnification of 4-16x and a First Focal Plane reticle, you get an optic that helps you aim accurately, whether you are shooting at shorter ranges or engaging targets at greater distances.

What we think of this rifle scope

What immediately stood out to us about this Tauron is the combination of its sturdy 34 mm main tube and impressively clear glass. The LaREE HD glass with Fully Multi-Coated lenses provides a clean, high-contrast image right to the edges. The turrets also feel solid. The clicks are both audible and tactile, giving you clear feedback on each adjustment you make. This is a detail you really appreciate in practical use.

Technical and optical performance of this rifle scope

The optic features a 44 mm objective lens and an eye relief of 95 mm. The reticle is the etched-glass VTA-3 MIL model positioned in the First Focal Plane (FFP), which means the MIL scale changes proportionally with the magnification. As a result, the hash marks remain usable throughout the entire magnification range. The centre dot measures just 0.04 MIL, allowing it to cover very little of the target and making it suitable for precise aiming.

Adjustments are made in increments of 0.1 MIL per click, with an elevation adjustment range of ≥42 MIL and a windage adjustment range of ≥29 MIL. Practical features such as Zero Stop, a Revolution Indicator and a locking windage turret make it easier to manage your settings accurately and consistently. The illuminated reticle features 6 brightness levels, while the side focus allows you to adjust parallax from 10 yards.

The housing is made from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with a matte black finish and is nitrogen-filled. It has an IP67 rating for protection against water and dust. With shock resistance up to 1000 G and a weight of 0.951 kg, this is a robust optic designed for intensive use. The illumination is powered by a CR2032 battery. Mounting and compatibility

This rifle scope has a 34 mm main tube, which means you will need compatible scope rings or a mount in this size. Mounting rings are not included, allowing you to select a mounting solution that best suits your platform. For a Picatinny rail, for example, you will need suitable 34 mm scope rings. Make sure to also consider the mounting height so that the 44 mm objective lens has sufficient clearance.

The package also includes a user manual, cleaning cloth, plastic wrench, rubber lens cover and a sunshade.
