Our experience from the Shogun team

During test sessions, we noticed that the Slug HP II stands out for its stable flight and predictable impact behaviour, provided it is fired from a PCP with sufficient energy output. The cylindrical shape combined with the hollow point ensures good spin stabilisation, which translates into tight groupings around the 50 metre mark. With more powerful setups, we also observed usable results at greater distances, with the slug retaining its velocity relatively well thanks to the favourable ballistic coefficient.

The projectile is manufactured from lead, has a caliber of 7.62 mm / .30, weighs 54 grain (3.50 grams), and is supplied in a tin of 80 pieces. The hollow point design ensures excellent energy transfer on impact and controlled expansion. Due to the relatively high weight, a minimum energy of 100 joules is recommended to bring the slug up to speed and keep it stable. It is worthwhile to test different grain weights in your own air rifle, as each barrel twist and pressure level responds differently; a chronograph is a valuable tool for gaining insight into the actual energy output and muzzle velocity of your setup.
