During a weekend camping trip, we thoroughly tested this knife. The compact dimensions make it ideal for precision work such as cutting paracord and food preparation. The knife feels comfortable in the hand, although we occasionally missed some extra grip in wet conditions.

Performance and sharpness of this knife

The 3Cr13 steel is a solid choice for daily use – it retains its sharpness reasonably well and is reliably stainless. With a hardness of 56 HRC, it is easy to resharpen. The plain-edge cutting edge and Wharncliffe shape make this knife excellent for controlled cutting in rope, cardboard, and food.

Grip and ease of use

As a fixed blade knife, the Sparky does not require an opening mechanism or locking system. The handle provides sufficient grip under normal conditions, although additional texture could be welcome for intensive use. The included polymer sheath protects the knife during transport.
