Hornady 8x57 JS GMX – Large calibre ammunition
The Hornady 8x57 JS GMX is large calibre ammunition with lead-free GMX bullets. These cartridges are developed for hunting and offer an effective combination of precision and penetration. The 8x57 JS calibre is widely used within the European hunting tradition, with this 180 grain variant being suitable for medium to large game.
Technical specifications
This ammunition has a bullet weight of 180 grain (11.7 grams) and is supplied in a box of 20 cartridges. The GMX bullet consists of a copper alloy without a lead core. The 8mm calibre in the 8x57 JS configuration offers a good balance between bullet velocity and energy transfer. The Superformance technology ensures a higher muzzle velocity and a flatter trajectory over longer distances.
Application in hunting
This large calibre ammunition is suitable for hunting medium to large game such as red deer, wild boar, and fallow deer. The lead-free composition makes the ammunition suitable for hunting areas where the use of lead is restricted. The GMX bullets retain their shape on impact for effective penetration.
Who is this ammunition intended for?
The Hornady 8x57 JS GMX is aimed at hunters who value environmentally friendly ammunition without compromising on performance. These cartridges are only available to holders of a valid hunting licence with a large game endorsement. Shooters with experience in the 8x57 JS calibre will appreciate the consistent performance of this ammunition.
