AEA Long Range Master .338 Hollow Point Slug – precision for long distances

These 8.6mm/.338 hollow point slugs of 154 grain are specifically developed for powerful PCP air rifles with a power output from 110 joules. The hollow point design ensures excellent energy transfer on target, making these slugs suitable for precision shooting at long distances and pest control. The heavy 154 grain mass combined with the 8.6mm caliber delivers a stable flight path well beyond 100 metres.

Our experience from the Shogun team

In our tests with various high-power PCP systems, it is immediately noticeable how stable these AEA slugs fly. The hollow point construction not only ensures good energy transfer, but also contributes to the aerodynamic properties. At distances up to 150 metres and beyond, the groups remain consistent, provided your air rifle delivers sufficient power. Testing different velocities with a chronograph helps to find the optimal energy output for your specific air rifle.

Technical characteristics in practice

With a caliber of 8.6mm/.338 and a weight of 154 grain, these slugs are on the heavy side of the spectrum. The hollow point design ensures controlled expansion upon impact. You receive 160 pieces per package, which is more than sufficient for extensive test sessions. Production by AEA Precision guarantees consistent quality and dimensions, essential for repeatable precision.

For whom is this air rifle ammunition suitable?

These Long Range Master slugs are ideal for experienced shooters with powerful PCP systems who wish to perform at long distances. They are perfect for precision shooting at distances where traditional diabolo pellets reach their limit. As a hollow point projectile, they are also suitable for pest control, but bear in mind that the use of an air rifle for this purpose is legally regulated. In many cases, an exemption or hunting licence is required, and this is exclusively permitted for recognised controllers or certified users.
