KRAIT MKII LONG | XHP | PCP | Black | Airmaks Arms

The Krait MKII Long XHP from Airmaks Arms is a high-quality PCP air rifle specifically designed for recreational shooting at longer distances and precision shooting on the range. With its sleek, modular bullpup design, a 700cc air cylinder, and an extended barrel for added stability, this model immediately stands out through its well-considered engineering and understated black finish.

Our experience with the KRAIT MKII Long XHP

The Shogun team has extensively tested this air rifle and was particularly impressed by the build quality. The combination of polymer and metal feels solid and well-balanced, while the side lever cycles surprisingly smoothly. Shot behaviour is consistent and calm thanks to the updated balance valve and anti-bounce hammer, resulting in noticeably more efficient air consumption per shot.

Technology, performance, and variants

The Krait MKII Long operates on the PCP principle (Pre-Charged Pneumatic) with a maximum fill pressure of 300 bar and a generous 700cc air cylinder. All variants share the same foundation: a total length of 940mm, a barrel length of 700mm, a weight of 3.82 kg, and a 22mm Picatinny top rail. The bidirectionally adjustable regulator, adjustable trigger, extendable buttstock, and adjustable cheek piece are also present on every model.

The model is available in caliber 5.5mm (.22) with approximately 80 joules (115J peak) and in 6.35mm (.25) with approximately 99 joules (145J peak). The .22 variant offers a flatter trajectory and higher velocity (FPS and MPS), ideal for precision shooting at medium range, while the .25 variant delivers greater impact energy and stability at longer distances. Magazine capacity differs slightly: 14 shots in .22 and 12 shots in .25.

Use and handling

This air rifle feels exceptionally ergonomic in use. The pistol grip sits naturally in the hand and the side lever can be operated both left- and right-handed, making it easy to switch shooting positions. The clearly marked safety catch is logically positioned above the trigger and can be operated with the thumb. The magazine loads quickly, even with longer pellets up to 14mm, and the 2-stage trigger is finely adjustable for a clean trigger feel.

Who is this air rifle intended for?

The Krait MKII Long XHP is aimed at the advanced shooter who values precision, adjustability, and consistent performance. Beginners with serious ambitions can also get along with it perfectly well, thanks to the extensive ergonomic adjustment options. Choose the 5.5mm for target shooting and controlled precision, or opt for the 6.35mm when you are looking for maximum energy and stability at distance.
