Umarex Primal .20 Gauge Slugs 395 grains – maximum impact for long distances

The Umarex Primal .20 Gauge Slugs of 395 grains are specially developed for the extreme power and performance of the Umarex Primal 20 PCP shotgun. These heavy slugs deliver tremendous impact and are ideal for shooters who want to transfer maximum energy at greater distances. Thanks to the integrated plastic wadding, they seal perfectly in the smooth barrel, which significantly improves efficiency, velocity and consistency.

Our experience with the Primal Slugs 395 grains

During testing, it immediately becomes clear that these slugs are truly made for brute force. The Umarex Primal 20 gets everything out of it: a hard hit, deep impact and a flat trajectory for a projectile of this weight. The plastic wad works excellently; it keeps the air behind the slug tightly compressed, ensuring every shot charge is optimally utilised. This not only provides more stability, but also a surprisingly consistent flight.

Technology and performance

With a weight of 395 grains, these slugs are amongst the heaviest projectiles available for a PCP shotgun. The design with integrated plastic wadding ensures an airtight seal in the smooth barrel of the Primal 20, whereby the available air pressure is maximally converted into velocity and energy. This results in impressive long-range performance with enormous impact on the target. The consistent seal also contributes to a repeatable trajectory, shot after shot.

Use and application

The Umarex Primal .20 Gauge Slugs are eminently suitable for shooters who want to get everything out of their Primal 20. The heavy mass makes them ideal for shooting distances where maximum energy transfer is desired. Loading is straightforward via the 2-shot magazine of the Primal, whereby the slug and plastic wad are smoothly guided into the chamber.

Who are these slugs intended for?

These slugs are made for advanced PCP shooters and dedicated big-bore enthusiasts who want to utilise the maximum power from their Umarex Primal 20. Due to the high power and specific character, they are less suitable as an entry-level projectile for beginners, but for the experienced user they are amongst the most impressive options on the market.
