H&N Sport Diabolo 4.5mm 8.18gr – Flat Nose Pellets for Recreational Shooting

The H&N Sport is a classic diabolo pellet of German manufacture, designed for shooters who wish to practise consistently with their break-barrel or pump-action air rifle. With a caliber of 4.5 mm / .177 and a weight of 8.18 grain, this projectile is an excellent match for air rifle systems with an energy output from 7.5 joules. The flat nose design makes this air rifle ammunition ideal for card shooting at shorter distances, where sharp and clearly defined holes in the target paper are a significant advantage.

Our Experience from the Shogun Team

During our test sessions, we noted that the H&N Sport demonstrates stable flight behaviour at the typical training distance of approximately 10 metres. At distances of up to around 25 metres and energy levels between 7.5 and 12 joules, the projectile remains predictable, making it particularly well suited for longer practice sessions. The flattened nose produces a clean impact in cardboard and paper targets, making scoring visually easier. Using a chronograph during zeroing sessions provides a clear picture of your air rifle's energy output in combination with this pellet.

Technical Characteristics in Practice

The projectile is manufactured from lead and weighs 8.18 grain in a caliber of 4.5 mm. The flat nose pellet shape ensures a more direct energy transfer to the target and contributes to sharply defined impacts. Each tin contains 500 pellets, providing sufficient stock for multiple intensive training sessions. As every air pressure system responds slightly differently to weight and nose shape, testing various grain weights within your caliber remains a valuable step towards maximum accuracy.

Who Is This Air Rifle Ammunition Suitable For?

The H&N Sport is a logical choice for recreational and sport shooters who train with a break-barrel or pump-action air rifle at distances of up to approximately 25 metres. The combination of a common weight, a flat nose design, and an attractive tin size makes these precision pellets highly suitable for paper and card shooting at the range or in the garden. Beginner shooters looking to refine their technique will also find a reliable and affordable companion in this pellet.
