Hop-up: High Operation Power Up.

Is the principle of the backspin trajectory of a BB which ensures that the BB will shoot more precisely and further. So by adjusting or setting the Hop-Up, you increase your range and accuracy.

The hop-up rubber or "bucking" is the rubber that is fitted around the front of the barrel (in the replica) and in the hop-up chamber. The bucking is placed in the hop-up chamber together with the nub. The nub causes the rubber of the bucking to be pushed down into the barrel. This creates topspin when a BB is shot through the barrel.

This Maple Leaf hop-up is adjusted to the specified degree 70°. This degree represents the thickness and stiffness of the rubber. The theory is: The thicker and stiffer the rubber, the less effective (friction the rubber gives) it is. High grade rubbers wear out less quickly than low grade rubbers.
