Front-Sight Fiber Optic Rods DAA – this sight for rapid target acquisition

This DAA sight offers you bright green or vivid red fibre optic rods that make your front sight instantly visible. The fibre optic technology captures ambient light and illuminates your bead, even in low-light conditions – ideal for fast target acquisition in IPSC or precision shooting.

Our opinion on this sight

The Shogun team is impressed by the light output of these fibre optic rods. They are noticeably brighter than standard plastic alternatives and the 1.0mm size fits most common front sights. The set of three is smart – you always have a spare on hand.

Technology and optical performance

These fibre optic rods work on the principle of total internal reflection: light entering from the side is guided through the fibre and shines brightly at the end. With a diameter of 1.0mm and a length of 10cm per rod, you have enough material for multiple replacements. The plastic material is flexible enough to fit into curved front sight channels, yet sturdy enough not to break spontaneously.

The choice between red or green is personal – green is perceived as brighter by the human eye, while red offers better contrast against green backgrounds.

Mounting and compatibility

This sight fits virtually any front sight designed for 1.0mm (0.040") fibre optic rods. Installation is simple: cut the rod to length, insert it through the channel in your front sight, and lightly melt the ends with a lighter to secure them. Most modern sport pistols and competition setups already have a slot for this type of fibre optic.

Who is this sight intended for?

Perfect for sport shooters who want to speed up their target acquisition, especially in dynamic disciplines such as IPSC or Steel Challenge. Also suitable for precision shooting where you need to switch quickly between multiple targets. The improved visibility of your front sight makes the difference between a fast first hit or costly corrections.
