RPSolutions 12.7mm / .50 Hollow Base 205gn – slug for large-calibre PCP air rifle

The RPSolutions 12.7mm / .50 Hollow Base is a substantial slug for PCP air rifle that feels right at home in the heavier class of air pressure systems. With a caliber of 12.7 mm / .50 and a weight of 205 grain, this projectile is designed for PCP air rifles that deliver ample power to bring this type of ammunition up to speed in a stable and consistent manner. The hollow base ensures a good seal in the barrel, which benefits the gas pressure behind the projectile and thus the consistency from shot to shot.

Our experience from the Shogun team

During our test sessions, we immediately noticed how stable this slug behaves once the system delivers sufficient energy. With large-calibre PCP air rifles from 300J upwards, this projectile performs excellently at long distances, with a predictable trajectory and ample retained energy on impact. The combination of mass and the Hollow Base construction results in calm flight behaviour, making aiming at distance considerably more pleasant.

Technical characteristics in practice

With a caliber of 12.7 mm / .50, a weight of 205 grain, and packaging of 100 pieces, this is a serious slug for those shooting with heavy hardware. The Hollow Base design improves the seal in the barrel, while the high weight ensures excellent energy transfer to the target. It is worth trying different grain weights to determine which weight best suits your specific air rifle; a chronograph helps to make the actual energy output transparent and to optimally fine-tune the settings.

Who is this air rifle ammunition suited for?

This slug is intended for shooters with a large-calibre PCP system who enjoy shooting at long distances and value stable, predictable ballistics. Think of experienced PCP users and precision enthusiasts who have tuned their setup for heavy projectiles. Thanks to the hollow base and considerable weight, this is a projectile that comes into its own in air rifles with a power output from 300J, where it can fully utilise its mass.
