Our experience with the GAMO Speedster 10X

At Shogun we have extensively tested this air rifle and were particularly impressed by the smooth third-generation Multishot system. After each barrel break, a new pellet automatically slides into position – no more fuss with constant reloading. The Whisper Maxxim barrel with integrated muzzle brake does exactly what it promises: noticeably less recoil and a pleasantly suppressed report.

Technology, performance and variants

The heart of this powerful air rifle is the IGT (Inert Gas Technology) gas ram that replaces traditional spring systems. This results in fewer vibrations and more consistent power delivery. This air rifle has a weight of 3.1 kg, a barrel length of 505 mm and is equipped with an 11mm dovetail rail for mounting a rifle scope. This model is available in calibre 4.5mm with a powerful 24 Joule output. The CAT trigger (Custom Action Trigger) allows you to adjust both trigger resistances to your preference with a single screw. Curious about all the technical details? You'll find them under the 'More information' heading on this page.

Use and operation

Cocking this air rifle feels firm but manageable – the IGT technology makes cocking smoother than with traditional spring-powered air rifles. The safety catch works intuitively and the 10-shot magazine loads without problems. The ergonomic polymer stock sits comfortably in the hand for both left- and right-handed shooters. The standard iron sight with bead and notch is clearly readable, and you can easily mount the included rifle scope on the rail.
