Warbird Karambit | Gil Hibben – Folding karambit for EDC and collectors
The Gil Hibben Warbird Karambit is a folding karambit that stands out due to its unique curved shape and blue accents. This pocket knife combines the iconic karambit design with practical EDC functionality. With its 7Cr17MoV steel, titanium coating and automatic opening, it is a reliable choice for daily use or as a collector’s item.
Experience from the Shogun team
We took this karambit with us during various outdoor activities. The curved hawkbill blade proved surprisingly handy for cutting rope and opening packaging. The automatic opening works lightning fast, although the karambit shape takes some getting used to for traditional cutting tasks.
Performance and sharpness of this karambit
The 7Cr17MoV stainless steel holds a good edge and is easy to maintain – ideal for beginners. The hawkbill blade shape excels at pull cuts, perfect for rope, cardboard and plastics. The plain-edge grind ensures razor-sharp performance. For fine cutting in wood or food, the curved shape is less suitable.
Grip and ease of use
The handle offers excellent grip, even with wet hands. The characteristic ring provides extra security during use. The linerlock locks the blade firmly, and thanks to the automatic opening mechanism, the knife opens instantly – be aware of local legislation!
Who is this karambit suitable for?
Perfect for EDC users looking for a striking pocket knife with unique functionality. Collectors will appreciate the Gil Hibben design and blue accents. For traditional outdoor tasks, straight knives are more practical, but fans of the karambit design will find an excellent execution here.
Maintenance and durability
The stainless steel requires minimal maintenance – regular wiping is sufficient. The titanium coating protects against scratches and corrosion. For optimal performance, we recommend a drop of oil on the automatic mechanism once a month. The relatively light weight of 145 grams makes it comfortable for daily carry.
