Cold Steel Mini Leatherneck – Compact neck knife for outdoor adventures

The Cold Steel Mini Leatherneck is a practical neck knife that excels in versatility. With its clip point blade shape of 9 cm and reliable 8Cr13MoV steel, this knife is perfect for EDC and outdoor use. The included Secure-Ex sheath makes carrying it around the neck safe and comfortable.

Experience from the Shogun team

During a bushcraft weekend, we tested this knife intensively. Its light weight of 121 grams was barely noticeable while walking. When cutting rope and preparing kindling, the knife performed surprisingly well for its size.

Performance and sharpness of this neck knife

The 8Cr13MoV steel offers a good balance between sharpness and ease of maintenance. This stainless steel stays sharp for a reasonable time and is easy to resharpen. The clip point shape with plain-edge grind cuts efficiently through rope, wood and food. The tip is ideal for finer cutting tasks.

Grip and ease of use

The Griv-Ex handle provides a solid, ergonomic grip that does not become slippery when wet. As a fixed blade knife, it does not require an opening mechanism or locking. The finger guard prevents your hand from sliding onto the razor-sharp blade during heavy use.

Who is this neck knife suitable for?

Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a compact backup knife. EDC users will appreciate the light weight and discreet carry options. For bushcrafters, it is a handy second knife for lighter tasks where a large survival knife would be excessive.

Maintenance and durability

The stainless steel requires minimal maintenance – drying after use and a drop of oil monthly is sufficient. The robust polymer sheath protects the blade excellently. Please note: the knife is not suitable for batoning or extremely heavy use due to its compact size.
