The Shogun team was pleasantly surprised by the solid construction of this pump-action air rifle. The plastic stock with wood-coloured finish feels solid and sits comfortably in the hand. The pump mechanism works smoothly, although we did notice that the final pump strokes require considerable force. The included 4x15 rifle scope is admittedly basic, but does exactly what is needed for immediate shooting enjoyment.
Technology, performance and variants
The Powerline 880 works with a multi-pump system where you can pump between 3 to 10 times for different power levels. This air rifle model has a length of 94 cm and no barrel end. The magazine has a capacity of 50 BBs, perfect for extended shooting sessions. At maximum pumping you achieve a muzzle velocity of 245 m/s (803 FPS) with a power of up to 16 joules in 4.5mm caliber. Use and operation
This pump-action air rifle has a single action trigger system that feels direct and predictable. The safety catch is located in a logical place and is easy to operate, even when wearing gloves. Loading BBs is done via the side magazine, whilst pellets are loaded one at a time. With a weight of 1.3 kg, the air rifle is light enough for prolonged use, but has sufficient mass for stability during aiming.
