Bushcraft Set by Elk Ridge – Complete Equipment for Outdoor Adventures
The Bushcraft Set by Elk Ridge is a versatile starter kit for nature enthusiasts. This bushcraft knife comes with essential accessories such as a firesteel and sharpening stone. The 3Cr13 stainless steel with droppoint blade shape offers reliability for camping and survival. The brown wooden handle gives this knife a classic appearance.
Experience from the Shogun Team
During a weekend camp, we thoroughly tested this knife. Starting a fire with the included firesteel worked surprisingly well, even with damp kindling. The weight of 458 grams feels substantial without becoming tiring during prolonged use.
Performance and Sharpness of this Bushcraft Knife
The 3Cr13 steel is a solid budget choice – it maintains reasonable sharpness and is easy to resharpen. This knife cuts effortlessly through rope, wood, and food. The blade length of 14 cm provides sufficient leverage for batoning. The plain-edge cutting edge ensures clean, precise cuts.
Grip and Ease of Use
The wooden handle offers a comfortable grip, even with wet hands. The balance between the 14 cm blade and the handle feels natural. As a fixed blade knife, it has no opening mechanism or lock – the full-tang construction guarantees strength during heavy-duty tasks.
Who is this Bushcraft Knife Suitable For?
Perfect for beginners who want to get acquainted with bushcraft without a large investment. Experienced campers will also appreciate this complete set as backup equipment. The included accessories make it ideal for those who want to get started right away without collecting separate parts.
Maintenance and Durability
The stainless steel requires minimal maintenance – drying after use is usually sufficient. The included sharpening stone keeps the blade razor-sharp. For optimal performance, we recommend applying a drop of oil to the blade monthly, especially when storing in humid environments.
