We took this pocket knife with us on a weekend trip. The spring-assisted mechanism works smoothly, although we noticed the spring became a bit stiffer after intensive use. The pocket clip was secure and the knife stayed firmly in place, even while scrambling over rocks.
Performance and sharpness of this pocket knife
The blade made from 3Cr13 steel is an entry-level steel that is easy to maintain. This steel retains its sharpness reasonably well and is highly corrosion-resistant. The combo-edge design (partially serrated) with a blade length of 88.9mm cuts smoothly through rope, cardboard and food. For heavy-duty tasks, we recommend a tougher steel.
Grip and ease of use
The coated steel handle feels surprisingly comfortable. The weight of 154 grams gives a solid feel without being heavy. The liner lock clicks firmly into place and the spring-assisted mechanism makes one-handed opening easy – handy if your other hand is occupied.
Who is this pocket knife suitable for?
This knife is ideal for beginners looking for a versatile EDC pocket knife. Collectors will appreciate the striking blue blade finish. For intensive outdoor use or bushcraft there are better options, but for everyday use and light outdoor activities, this knife with its total length of 21cm is perfectly suitable.
Maintenance and durability
The 3Cr13 material requires little maintenance – occasional wiping and light oiling is sufficient. The titanium coating protects against scratches, although it may wear with intensive use. The spring mechanism occasionally needs a drop of oil for smooth operation. When closed, the knife measures 12cm.
