HP Slugs .177 by ZAN Projectiles – heavy slugs for powerful PCP systems

The HP Slugs in 4.5mm/.177 with a weight of 16 grains are specially developed for powerful PCP air rifles. Thanks to the hollow point design and the relatively high weight for this caliber, these slugs perform best in systems from 40 joules upwards. They are designed for shooters aiming for maximum precision at distances between 75 and 100 metres, with the aerodynamic shape ensuring a stable flight.

Our experience from the Shogun team

ZAN Projectiles is known for their consistent production and these 16 grain slugs are no exception. The projectile maintains its stability excellently during flight, especially when fired from a powerful PCP with sufficient energy. The hollow point ensures excellent energy transfer on impact, making these slugs particularly effective for pest control. At distances up to 100 metres, the grouping remains impressively tight, provided your air rifle delivers sufficient power.

Technical features in practice

With a caliber of 4.5mm/.177 and a weight of 16 grains, these are among the heavier projectiles in their class. The lead material provides the necessary mass and density, while the hollow point shape not only improves aerodynamics but also ensures maximum energy transfer. The packaging contains 350 pieces, enough for extensive testing sessions. These slugs require a powerful PCP with good barrel matching – a chronograph is recommended to determine the optimal velocity for your specific air rifle.

Who is this air rifle ammunition suitable for?

These slugs are ideal for experienced PCP shooters who want to push their limits at longer distances. They are particularly suitable for precision shooting at 75-100 metres and, thanks to the hollow point design, also effective for pest control. Please note: the use of an air rifle for pest control is regulated by law. In many cases, an exemption or hunting licence is required, and this is only permitted for recognised pest controllers or certified users. For recreational shooters who want to get the most out of their powerful PCP, these slugs offer an excellent balance between precision and performance.
