ZAN Projectiles HP Slugs 36gr – heavy slugs for long-range precision

These hollow point slugs from ZAN Projectiles are specially developed for shooters who want to get the most out of their PCP air rifle. With a weight of 36 grains in 5.5mm/.22 calibre, these projectiles belong to the heavier category, making them ideally suited for powerful PCP systems from 40 joules upwards. The hollow point construction ensures optimal energy transfer, while the aerodynamic design guarantees stability at distances from 75 up to 100 metres.

Our experience from the Shogun team

In practice, these slugs stand out due to their consistent trajectory and predictable ballistic properties. The weight of 36 grains in combination with the ballistic coefficient between 0.130 and 0.140 ensures a stable flight, even under varying weather conditions. At velocities between 850 and 1000 fps, these projectiles perform optimally, with the hollow point construction providing controlled expansion on impact. At distances up to 100 metres, they maintain their precision excellently.

Technical properties in practice

With a diameter of 5.51mm and a length of 10mm, these lead slugs are perfectly matched to modern PCP air rifles. The hollow point design combines deep penetration with effective energy transfer. The packaging contains 200 pieces, sufficient for extensive testing sessions. The use of a chronograph is recommended to determine the ideal velocity for your specific air rifle, with the sweet spot usually between 260 and 305 m/s for optimal grouping.

Who is this air rifle ammunition suitable for?

These slugs are particularly suitable for experienced shooters with powerful PCP systems who pursue long-range precision. Competition shooters and precision enthusiasts who want to shoot at 75-100 metres will find a reliable partner in this ammunition. Due to the hollow point design, these slugs are also suitable for pest control, with the emphasis that the use of an air rifle for control purposes is legally regulated. In many cases, an exemption or hunting licence is required, and this is only permitted for recognised controllers or certified users.
