ZAN Projectiles HP Slugs 28gr – heavy slug for long-range precision

These HP Slugs from ZAN Projectiles, with their 28 grains weight, are specially developed for powerful PCP air rifles from 40 joules. The hollow point design in 5.5mm/.22 calibre combines excellent aerodynamics with controlled expansion on impact. Thanks to the careful balance between weight and shape, these slugs perform optimally at distances of 75 to 100 metres, where they maintain their stability and precision.

Our experience from the Shogun team

In our tests with various PCP systems, these slugs stand out for their consistent flight behaviour. The ballistic coefficient between 0.102 and 0.128 translates into a flat trajectory, even under changing weather conditions. At velocities between 800 and 1050 fps, these projectiles achieve their optimal performance. The 8.65mm length ensures good stabilisation in the barrel, resulting in tight groupings at 75 to 100 metres.

Technical properties in practice

With a diameter of 5.53mm and a weight of 28 grains, these lead slugs are heavier than standard pellets. This results in more kinetic energy and better wind resistance. The hollow point shape ensures controlled expansion on impact, effectively transferring energy. Each pack contains 200 pieces, enough to test different settings and perfect your shooting skills.

Who is this air rifle slug suitable for?

These slugs are ideal for experienced shooters with a PCP air rifle of at least 40 joules who are looking for precision at longer distances. Recreational precision shooters who want to extend their range to 75-100 metres will find a reliable partner here. Thanks to the hollow point design, these slugs are also suitable for pest control, but please note that the use of an air rifle for this purpose is legally regulated. In many cases, a permit or hunting licence is required, and this is only permitted for recognised controllers or certified users.
