Katran B | PCP | AirMaks
The Katran B from AirMaks is an impressive PCP air rifle that immediately stands out due to its modern AR15 styling and well-considered ergonomics. This versatile air rifle has been specially developed for precision shooters who refuse to compromise on power, accuracy and ease of use during recreational shooting at the range or in the back garden.
Our experience with the Katran B
When testing the Katran B, we were immediately impressed by the build quality. This air rifle feels solid and perfectly balanced with its 2.66 kg weight. The side lever operates smoothly and the two-stage trigger system is externally adjustable – a detail that advanced shooters will appreciate. The compactness when the metal stock is folded is particularly impressive.
Technology, performance and variants
As a PCP system, the Katran B operates with a 480 cc air reservoir that can be filled up to 300 bar. This air-powered rifle has a length of 910 mm (folded 684 mm), a barrel length of 400 mm and a magazine capacity of 16 shots. This model is available in caliber 5.5mm (32 joules) and 6.35mm (51 joules). The difference in joules means that the 6.35mm variant has more power for longer distances, whilst the 5.5mm is ideal for precision shooting at medium range. Curious about all the technical details? You'll find them under the 'More information' heading on this page.
Use and operation
This air rifle feels familiar from the very first moment. The AR15-style safety catch and adjustable cocking lever can be mounted on the left or right as required. Loading proceeds flawlessly thanks to the anti-double feed system. The external velocity regulator provides complete control over the power of your shots, whilst the 22mm Weaver rail and KeyMod slots offer ample scope for accessories.
Who is this air rifle intended for?
The Katran B is eminently suitable for the advanced shooter looking for a powerful air rifle with professional features. The 5.5mm variant is perfect for precision work, whilst the 6.35mm with its 51 joules is ideal when maximum power is desired. It is not an entry-level model – with its extensive adjustment options, this air rifle is aimed at enthusiasts.
