If you're looking for a reliable rifle scope suitable for various platforms, then the Vector Optics Matiz 3-9x40 is an excellent choice. This versatile scope offers variable magnification from 3 to 9 times and a clear 40mm objective lens, perfect for both airsoft replicas and air rifles. The sturdy construction from aircraft-grade aluminium makes this rifle scope suitable for intensive use.

What we think of this rifle scope

The Shogun team is impressed by the price-quality ratio of this rifle scope. The image is sharp from edge to edge without any disturbing dark ring, and the VMT-MIL reticle with mildot markings remains perfectly legible even at higher magnifications. The turrets can be adjusted without tools – very practical during use.

Technology and optical performance

The Matiz has a 3-9x magnification range with a 40mm objective lens. The fully multi-coated optics ensure a clear and high-contrast image with a field of view of 6.3 to 2.2°. The 1/10 MIL capped adjustment allows for fine-tuning, whilst the 4 inch eye relief enables comfortable aiming.

This rifle scope weighs 390 grams and has a tube diameter of 1 inch (25.4mm). The housing made of 6061 T6 aluminium is filled with nitrogen gas to prevent fogging and tested for shocks up to 600 grams. The parallax is set by default at 100 metres with a Second Focal Plane (SFP) construction.

Mounting and compatibility

This rifle scope is supplied with mounting rings for Weaver/Picatinny rails – this is the standard for airsoft replicas and many PCP air rifles. It offers secure attachment and broad compatibility with modern platforms.

Please note: for traditional air rifles with an 11mm dovetail rail you will need separate mounting rings. The included mount is specifically for 22mm rails. Lens covers and a cleaning cloth are also included.

Who is this rifle scope intended for?

The Matiz 3-9x40 is ideal for the versatile user who wants one rifle scope for different applications. Whether you play airsoft, shoot with an air rifle or undertake other precision activities – this scope adapts itself. The variable magnification range makes it suitable for both short and medium-range distances. Vector Optics also offers lifetime warranty on their products, which underlines confidence in durability.
