Our experience with MA2 | PCP | Macavity Arms
The Shogun team was immediately impressed by how well this air rifle handles. With a weight of 2.7 kg, it feels perfectly balanced - not too heavy during long sessions, but stable enough for precise shots. The rubber grip on the tactical stock offers excellent hold, whilst the smooth side-lever cocking system requires remarkably little effort.
Technology, performance and variants
This powerful air rifle operates on the PCP principle with a maximum fill pressure of 250 bar. The single-shot system has a barrel length of 457 mm and a magazine capacity of 11 shots. This model is available in three calibers: 5.5mm/.22 (40 Joule), 6.35mm/.25 (60 Joule) and 7.62mm/.30 (110 Joule). The difference in joules means that with the .22 caliber you are perfectly equipped for precision shooting at medium range, whilst the heavier calibers offer more penetration for larger targets or longer distances. Curious about all the technical details? You'll find them under the heading 'More information' on this page.
Use and operation
This air-powered weapon feels immediately familiar thanks to the well-known M4 platform. The manual safety catch is positioned in a logical place, and the adjustable trigger system allows you to fine-tune the trigger pull perfectly. The self-indexing magazine makes loading quick and trouble-free. The 22mm Picatinny top rail and Weaver mounting rail offer ample space for your favourite sight or rifle scope. Extra convenient is the extendable stock that adapts to your body height, with options for both left- and right-handed shooters.
Who is this air rifle intended for?
The MA2 is ideal for the advanced shooter who wants more than a standard air rifle. It offers the performance and customisation options that experienced shooters appreciate, but remains accessible for ambitious beginners. Choose the .22 caliber for general precision shooting, the .25 for more power at medium range, or the .30 caliber when you need maximum impact.
