Vector Optics Tauron 5-50x60 ED SFP Rifle Scope

This rifle scope is a serious precision optic that gives you an enormous amount of zoom range on a small target. With a magnification range of 5-50x60 and Japanese ED glass, this is a tool built for situations where every detail counts, such as Field Target and Benchrest.

Our thoughts on this rifle scope

We were particularly impressed by the crystal-clear image quality – that up to 92% light transmission is genuinely noticeable in edge-to-edge sharpness. The turrets feel solid and click with satisfying definition, and the ability to fine-tune in 0.05 MIL per click increments makes zeroing almost addictively precise. In short: an optic that feels like a piece of equipment that takes its job seriously.

Technical and optical performance of this rifle scope

The foundation is strong: a magnification of 5-50x, an objective lens of 60 mm, and a main tube of 34 mm that allows for a wide adjustment range. The LaREE HD lens system is fully multi-coated and uses Japanese ED glass, which counters colour fringing (chromatic aberration). The eye relief of 95 mm provides comfortable spacing, and parallax is adjustable via side focus from 10 metres to infinity. The illuminated VCO-5 MIL reticle features a floating centre dot of 0.05 MIL and six brightness levels in red, ensuring minimal target obstruction. Thanks to the Second Focal Plane (SFP) construction, the reticle remains the same thickness regardless of the selected magnification.

In terms of build quality, it is well constructed: a housing made of 6061-T6 aluminium, IP67 water- and dustproof, nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging, and shock-resistant up to 1,000 G. Power is supplied via a CR2032 battery, and at a weight of 0.951 kilograms, you can feel that this is built to be robust. Want all the details? Have a look at the 'More Information' tab.

Mounting and compatibility

This rifle scope has a 34 mm tube diameter and comes supplied with a pair of Picatinny scope rings. Picatinny is the standard on many PCP air rifles and airsoft replicas and offers a solid, broadly compatible mounting solution. Conveniently, you do not need to order separate mounts — everything is included in the box.

In addition to the scope and rings, the packaging also includes a sunshade, rubber lens covers, a cleaning cloth, a plastic spanner, and hex keys. This is therefore a complete package ready to use straight away.

Who is this rifle scope intended for?

This optic is truly designed for the advanced precision shooter. Think of use in Benchrest, F-Class, Field Target, and Long Range target shooting — situations where you are pursuing maximum accuracy from a static position. The lockable turrets with Zero Stop and the Revolution Indicator make this
