Vector Optics Owlset Heim ES X-nano STD Mini Thermal Imaging Scope

This compact thermal imaging scope is designed for detecting targets at night without visible light. Weighing just 123 grams, this scope combines advanced thermal imaging technology with portability, perfect for mounting on both airsoft replicas and air rifles.

What we think of this thermal imaging scope

The Shogun team is impressed by the ultra-light design and surprisingly sharp image quality for such a compact device. The 1.4 inch touchscreen responds smoothly, and the Real-Time Hot Spot Tracking function automatically detects the hottest objects in view - ideal for quick target identification in complete darkness.

Technology and optical performance

The heart of this thermal imaging scope consists of a 256×192 thermal sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch, paired with a 19 mm lens. The 50 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth movement without delay. With a detection range of up to 600 metres and recognition range of up to 150 metres, you make no compromises on performance despite the compact format.

You can choose from six pseudo-colour modes including White Hot, Black Hot and Rainbow, which helps in recognising contrast differences in complex environments. The circle-dot reticle is available in 5 colours with 10 different options. With a battery life of 3.5 hours on the included 16280 battery, you can continue through an entire session without recharging.

Mounting and compatibility

This thermal imaging scope is supplied with a mount for Picatinny rails. This is the standard on airsoft replicas and many PCP air rifles - offering solid attachment and broad compatibility. The aluminium housing is built to withstand 1000 G shocks and has IP66 water resistance, so even in heavy rainfall the optic continues to function.

The mount is supplied including mounting tools, USB-C charging cable, dual battery charger and three batteries - everything you need to get started straight away.

Who is this thermal imaging scope intended for?

This thermal imaging scope is ideal for airsoft players who want to play tactical simulations in the dark, or air rifle shooters who want to observe at night. The compact format of just 51×43×46 mm makes it perfect for mounting on pistols and compact replicas where larger optics don't fit. The intuitive operation via the touchscreen makes it accessible for beginners, whilst the advanced functions such as hot spot tracking also appeal to experienced users.
