Our experience with the Diana Trailscout 4.5
Upon first contact with the Trailscout, the solid build quality is immediately apparent. The combination of polymer and metal feels robust without making this rifle too heavy – at 2.1 kilograms it sits comfortably in the hand. Loading via the side lever is smooth, and the magazine changes effortlessly. What particularly impressed us: this rifle is surprisingly quiet thanks to the included moderator.
Technology, performance and variants
The Trailscout runs on three 12-gram CO₂ cartridges that you install easily. With a full charge you get approximately 100 shots – more than enough for an afternoon of fun. This model has a caliber of 4.5mm, delivers 11.5 joules and shoots at a velocity of 220 m/s (722 FPS). The length is 101 cm, the magazine has a capacity of 10 shots and the barrel end has no thread. Use and operation
This air-powered weapon feels familiar from the first moment. The right-handed stock sits comfortably in your shoulder, and the safety catch is in a logical position. You can choose between the magazine or the included single-shot tray for extra precision. The 11mm dovetail rail provides space for a rifle scope, although the open sights (front and rear) are also perfectly usable. The adjustable trigger lets you set the release point to your preference.
